Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions.
Your generous donation will fund our mission mainly to get adequate clean water and send children to school rather than waiting until they get enough . Their health will also improve immensly.
The first project set out to provide access to clean and safe water is completed. The community will have a three pronged access to clean and adequate water: for house hold uses, for their livestocks and for washing clothing and sanitation.
With such one move, water supply and health issues in the community are addressed. When it comes to health, the major source of problem is intestinal parasitic infestation and other communicable diseases due to consumption of unclean and contaminated water.
In the era of massive fertilization use contamination of open water is another issue.
Unlike temporary assistance provisions, this well/project is intended to give long term benefit for the community. The service will continue as long as the water source does not dry up. The construction of this project from inception to completion has the community's participation to make them involved and feel ownership of the wells. This will help to continue maintenance and proper utilization of the well.
There is also an additional benefit to children. The children will no more wondering around and spend time trying to find drinking water for their family and the livestock. As part of the project design, there will be a site where cattle and other animals can drink clean water too. Ample time for children to work on their school assignments.
Seemingly a small project started with few but committed members across the globe has resulted in such an extraordinary outcome. This really should be a model. Hence moving forward Wogen calls all to be part of the endeavor at any level. Wogen is committed to translate your donations directly applied to benefit needy communities. That is why we are inviting you to be part of the march that have practical effect. This is the beginning of the story.
The constructed water source at Marsha Zeleke serves three communities: Woyra Ber, Warkaw and Aygeber. The members of the community as seen in the photo are very grateful.
